Blues Band School

But Don’t you have something for adults?

Many adults want to get in on the action but teens aren’t looking to jam with their parents. We have the solution! The Blues Band School is geared for adults who want to learn how to be working musicians in a setting that is conducive to the way we learn after adolescence (or after 40 as the case may be).

The Blues classes are taught by AAMC Blues and Jazz director, Dave Sharp. Dave is well known in the area as a jazz band leader,  electric and acoustic bassist and music teacher. Blues classes focus on traditional, electric blues from such artists as Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters and even Jimi Hendrix. When you sign up for the program you’ll meet with Dave to be assessed then placed in band of your peers. Classes are open to guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists, harmonica players and vocalists. Playing in a Music Center Blues Band is like joining a band with a seasoned band leader who will lead you to polished skills and confidence on stage.

Classes meet weekly for 60 minutes and work hard toward every performance. Once your band has rehearsed a set you’re booked at a local venue to put on a blues show the way it was intended - Loud ‘n Live!
